Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Garden creates a calm and restorative landscape for patients, families, staff, and visitors seeking a special place outside the hospital. The garden provides spaces to find privacy, be together, reflect, and experience the restorative effects of plants and the outdoors. A character- defining composition of black Endicott brick and concrete creates a distinctive visual identity and invitation to enter, while a reused sculpture addressing themes of childhood cancer anchors a new fountain whose ambient sound reinforces a sense of calm. Custom curved wooden benches shape intimate areas for gathering and quiet retreat, surrounded by immersive planting that provides shade, texture, and enclosure. Every element is designed to offer moments of comfort, reflection, and connection.
