301 Ocean Drive
Key Biscayne, FL
Developed with Raymond Jungles Inc., Miami, FL. Christopher Counts Lead Design Principal in collaboration with Touzet Studio
301 Ocean Drive reimagines the oceanfront condominium landscape as a richly planted residential park. The developer deliberately reduced the building footprint to devote more of the property to landscape, while the elevated architecture required for coastal resiliency became an opportunity to introduce substantial topography across an otherwise flat site. Sculpted landforms create overlooks, frame ocean views, and organize distinct outdoor rooms for swimming, play, dining, recreation, gathering, and retreat. A large lagoon pool bends through the garden so that it is rarely experienced in its entirety, extending its perceived scale and creating constantly changing relationships between water, planting, and movement. Children’s play, lawns, an amphitheater, lap pool, café, and intimate gardens are embedded within an immersive canopy of native and coastal vegetation, creating a resilient landscape where architecture appears to emerge from a lush coastal park.
